Try Sailing

trysail_1Ever wanted to know what it feels like to slip through the water on a salty breeze with the wind rushing through your hair? Then come down to the Esperance Bay Yacht Club on Sunday the 8th of March to experience the joy of sailing and be shown the ropes on the Yacht Club's purpose built training dinghies, the Puffin Pacers.

Six boats will be available and a fully trained skipper will show you how it all works.  Sessions are free and commence at 10.30am and run until 1pm.  Each training run will go for 15 minutes so there will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to have a go.  There will be lunches on sale, a sausage sizzle and refreshments available from the bar. Make sure you bring your wet weather gear, a hat and sunscreen!

Approximately 40 people took advantage of Bay's gentle breezes and participated in the TrySail day on the 8th of March at the Esperance Bay Yacht Club (EBYC). Young and old enjoyed a beautiful day's sailing on the Cruising Yachts, Flying Fifteens, Puffin Pacers and Pelicans. Jessica Wallace, Secretary of the EBYC, said that everyone that took part had a fantastic time and that the Club looks forward to being involved again at the next Festival.
